MEET YOUR GUIDE

Cindy Mom brings over twenty years of guiding experience to Seldovia Nature Tours. Starting as a Park Interpreter and Island Manager for the Boston Harbor Islands State Park in 1997, she has since led countless interpretive field trips and outdoor activities in Alaska, Massachusetts, Michigan, and Florida. Prior to founding Seldovia Nature Tours, she worked as a full time guide on St. Paul Island in Alaska’s Pribilofs (Bering Sea), served as a seabird and shorebird biologist for the National Park Service and U.S. Fish and Wildlife, and managed nature preserves for two different land conservancies. Her varied career has allowed her plenty of time in the field to explore and get to know the birds, plants, insects, and animals in many different habitats. Through photography, writing, and storytelling, Cindy enjoys sharing her love of the natural world with others.

OTTERBAHN TRAIL

Built in 1997 by community members and students from Susan B. English School, the Otterbahn Trail is a beloved, easy 2-mile hike from town to Outside Beach.

SELDOVIA HARBOR

If you arrive in Seldovia by boat (on the Seldovia Bay Ferry, Rainbow Connection, Discovery, or a private boat) this is where your explorations of Seldovia will begin.

RAINFOREST HABITATS

Seldovia lies at the very northern edge of the Pacific Northwest temperate rainforest's range. This is the natural northern limit for many species of plants, birds, and other organisms.

OCEAN HABITATS

Seldovia is embraced by the ocean, and has many types of shoreline for you to explore. Surf-pounded gravel beaches, rocky cliffs, tidepools, and sloughs await your visit. Learn what it means to "live by the tide."

OPEN YEAR ROUND

Tours are available year round, and offer spectacular photography and birding opportunities.

Visit in the "off season" for a truly unique experience!
